Martin graduated in 1990 with BEng(Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and later that year joined the National Grid Company. He was awarded Chartered Engineer status in 1999 and is a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology. |

Martin currently works for National Grid based in Berkshire. He holds two posts in the electricity control room, Transmission Analysis: real-time assessment of the England & Wales Transmission System security using a mixture of computer tools; Zonal Balancing: dispatching generation in either the North or South of the country to meet the total electrical demand whilst maintaining the system frequency at 50Hz. |

| His career has seen him take many posts within the company. Highlights include:- |
- Development of reactive compensation reinforcement to the transmission system
- Development and maintainanance of transmission system computer models
- Contract negotiation and risk assessment for new ancillary services
- Project Manager for a new computerised contract despatch system (£500k)
- Project Manager of novel contract despatch systems (£1m)
- Team Manager of Engineers responsible for Transmission System outage planning.

| Together with colleagues from National Grid, Martin manages the running an Imagineering Club at Caversham Primary School in Reading. |

| Martin learnt his website designing skills during 2003 with a new website for his local primary school. He then saw an opportunity to provide documents electronically to the Imagineering Tutor community via a website, hence this site was born in June 2004. A few months later the site became the Imagineering Foundation official website. |

| In his spare time Martin enjoys swimming, cycling, sci-fi films and listening to music. |
