The annual Midlands IMAGINEERING FAIR this year takes place in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at the stunning Ricoh Arena, Coventry, Warwickshire on 11-12 October 2008 and will be a fabulous family day-out.
This exciting family show with fun hands-on activities for youngsters promises to be bigger and better than ever with scores of fun activities developed by some of the UK's leading organisations, introducing them to the exciting world of engineering and modern technology.
From submarines to aerospace; manufacturing and CADCAM to motorsport and robotics - and everything in between - young people can learn about modern engineering and discover the mind-blowing technology that affects our every day lives.
Imagineering introduces 8-16 year olds to the fascinating world of engineering through fun hands-on activities with opportunities to meet real engineers and find out what they do. Originated and run by the education charity the IMAGINEERING FOUNDATION, it is staffed by committed volunteers with engineering knowledge and assisted by our Supporters.
The Foundation organises three annual IMAGINEERING FAIRS - in the Midlands, at Royal Bath & West Show, and also at The Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford near Cirencester, together attracting nearly 80,000 visitors a year.
It also organises weekly out-of-school IMAGINEERING CLUBS, where youngsters learn basic skills and build a number of working models under the guidance of volunteer engineers tutors and teachers.
The IMAGINEERINGWEB site complements these activities with on-line information and guidance for Tutors and Teachers with a resource centre and Forum. The Foundation works hand-in-hand with professional organisations and companies and Imagineering dovetails neatly with educational initiatives promoting engineering skills.
